École New Era
How is it that good teaching happens?
I am so grateful that I was able to spend my first time student teaching at École New Era. I truly feel that my five weeks in the classroom were a very enlightening and in many ways a very rewarding experience. My CT posse’s wonderful leadership skills and practices well-established classroom routines. I came to appreciate all those little routines because they do help to manage the students. Moreover, those routines provide students with a consistency that they seem to follow well. I think that routines provide structure, and for some students, this may be the only structure they have in their entire days. Well established routines help teachers to focus on their teaching and to standardize instructions. My CT made teaching look so easy, but I noticed that it will take time to get to know the students and to create a classroom culture that is respectful, educational, safe, diverse and fun.
École La Source
C'est la vie!
I am looking forward to my next student teaching which will be starting on March 11, 2019, at École La Source DSFM. I consider student teaching at École La Source a great challenge because my French is a bit "rusty" and that means that I will have to brush up on my French very very quickly in a very short time.
